3. Eligibility for participation

  1. Any individual with Indian origin and having valid Switzerland/Lichtenstein residence permit is eligible for competitions.
  2. All participants are requested to carry an age verification document and present at the registration counter. Organizers hold the right to verify age if necessary.

4. Online registration

  1. Registrations for competitions should be done online, through our website bharatheeyakalalayam.org on or before 25th February 2024
  2. Participants will receive an automatic reply by e-mail, with your registration Data, soon after the online registration is completed. If you do not receive any automatic reply by e-mail or you notice any incorrect information in your registration data please contact our Program Coordinator. Rohan Thomas (078 911 65 00)
  3. If any changes occur, participants will be informed on or before 29th February 2024

Special Instructions for Story Telling competitions (Kids)

  1. Time limit for Story Telling is 5 minutes
  2. Language of the Story should be Malayalam, German or English
  3. Special Focus: Appearance, self-confidence, style, eye contact, memory and effectiveness

 

Special Instructions for Pencil Drawing competitions (KIDS, SUB-JUNIORS, JUNIORS)

  1. For pencil drawing competitions two subjects will be published on our website

www.bharatheeyakalalayam.org two weeks before the competitions, 17th February 2024

  1. Time limit for pencil drawing is 1 hour (block time)
  2. HB Pencils, Eraser and Drawing paper will be provided to all participants

Special Instructions for Solo Song with Karaoke competitions (SUB-JUNIORS, JUNIORS)

  1. Time limit for Solo Song with Karaoke is minimum 4 and maximum 8 minutes.
  2. Karaoke is to be presented in a USB stick with the particular Karaoke only and submitted to the stage manager prior to the competition
  3. Organizers are not responsible for the malfunctioning of the USB stick
  4. Language of the song should be Hindi, Tamil or Malayalam
  5. Participants may sing any kind of songs (Songs from Films, Albums etc.)

Special Instructions for Elocutions competitions (SUB-JUNIORS, JUNIORS)

  1. Topic will be announced two weeks (17th February 2024) before the competition
  2. English, Malayalam or German may be used as Language
  3. Timing (5 minutes maximum)
  4. Expecting a clear and concise manner of speaking with clarity of meaning and thought
  5. Expressing strong emotions in striking and appropriate language
  6. Fluency and Elegancy during speaking

Special Instructions for Mono Act competitions (SUB-JUNIORS, JUNIORS)

Mono Act is when you enact different characters, using different tones, styles, dialogue, expressions, etc. There is no need of wearing costume according to character, but each character should be expressed differently.

Special Instructions for Folk Dance competitions (SUB-JUNIORS, JUNIORS)

Indian folk dance is performed to express joy. Folk dance is performed for every possible occasion, to celebrate the arrival of seasons, birth of a child, a wedding and festivals. The dance is extremely simple with minimum of steps or movements. The skill and the imagination of the dancer influences the performance. Dance music is to be presented in a USB stick and submitted to the stage manager prior to the competition

Special Instructions for Cinematic Dance  competitions (SUB-JUNIORS, JUNIORS)

  1. Time limit for Cinematic Dance is 7 minutes
  2. Dance music is to be presented in a USB stick and submitted to the stage manager prior to the competition
  3. Organizers are not responsible for the malfunctioning of the USB stick
  4. Any Language of dance music can be used.
  5. For Stage setting and removal of properties a maximum of 3 minutes is allowed.
  6. There must be a minimum of 3 members and Maximum 10.
  7. Time is limited to 7 minutes.

5. Judgment

  1. Judgment will be done by a panel of competent judges selected by Bharatheeya Kalalayam
  2. Judgment will be based on pre-defined criteria, and this will be informed to the Judges and participants in due time (for Judgment Criteria please see the tables given below this document).

  4. Participants /parents / guardians are not supposed to contact any jury member

6. Prizes

  1. Trophies will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners, during Bharatheeya Kalolsavam 2024
  2. The following prestigious Best Performer Award shall be given to the best performer of Kalolsavam

 

Best Performer Award

To be honoured with this award, the following criteria must be met:

  1. Participation in any 3 individual competition items
  2. One first prize any individual competition items
  3. Only prize winners (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) with scores 50% and above in each event will be considered.
  4. A consolation price will be given if and only an event item has only a single participant. Those event items will not be counted or considered for Best Performer Award.
  5. A minimum of 60% marks must be achieved as an aggregate.
  6. For this award only age categories Sub-junior and Junior will be considered. There will be only one Best Performer Award for all these 3 categories together.
  7. The winner of this award will be given a special trophy and a cash award of CHF 250.-

7. Other General Instructions

  • Chest numbers: Chest numbers will be issued from 07:30 a.m. onwards at the registration counter. Contestants should collect their chest numbers in time and report to the stage managers at least 30 minutes prior to competitions.
  • In case of any dispute: The decision of the Judges and Executive Committee of Bharatheeya Kalalayam will be final.
